Harry
Moore, a native of Walnut Ridge, came to the law firm in 1975
after receiving degrees from Arkansas State University in 1969
and University of Arkansas Law School.
His
practice has included the formation of several regional water
distribution districts, representation of drainage districts and
financial institutions, and representation of social security
claimants. A large portion of his practice is in the area of domestic
relations. He has served as a participant in several programs
presented by the Family Law Section of the Arkansas Bar Association
and has been awarded six "Best of CLE" awards for being the best
instructor in a continuing legal education course for other attorneys.
He is a former chairman of that section.
In
1998 he was selected by the Arkansas Times as one the "Best
Lawyers in Arkansas" in the family law area, and he was selected
for the 1999-2000 edition of the "Best Lawyers in America" as
a family law practitioner. In
1996 Moore became the second lawyer in the firm's history
to serve
as President of the Arkansas Bar Association.
During
Moore's tenure as chairman of the Young Lawyers Section of the
Arkansas Bar Association, it received two first place awards from
the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association. He
continues to serve on several bar association committees. He was
appointed as one of the initial members of the Arkansas Continuing
Legal Education Board, and has served on the Supreme Court Child
Support Committee, as a director of the Arkansas Bar Foundation,
and on the Arkansas IOLTA board.
Since
1997, he has served as the representative of the Arkansas
Bar
Association in the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association.
In June 2000, he received the prestigious Carpenter Award
for
his service to the Arkansas Bar Association.
Moore
is a board certified domestic arena mediator.
His
community activities include past service as chairman of
the Paragould
Parks and Recreation Commission and president of the Paragould/Greene
County Area Chamber of Commerce. He chaired the Chamber's
Industrial Committee for two years, and as a result of his
efforts in
obtaining
new industry for Greene County, was named as "Volunteer of
the Year" by the Industrial Developers of Arkansas. Harry recently
joined the Paragould Rotary Club.
He
has served as president of the Arkansas State University Alumni
Association and as an elder and trustee of the First Presbyterian
Church. He has been active in political affairs, having served
as treasurer of the Democratic Party of the State of Arkansas.
He
is married to the former Linda Lou Lipscomb of Blytheville.
